EXD-F Series

The Exdapter EXD-F Series of industrial adapters interfaces position encoders to your motor drive. The adapters include captive screws to ensure that the connection is always secure.

Renishaw/RLS Incremental Encoders to ACS Drives

This Exdapter combination adapts both digital (quadrature) and analog (sin-cos) Renishaw/RLS incremental encoders with DA-15M (DB-15M) connectors to all of ACS Motion Control's drives with DA-26F (HD-15F) encoder inputs.  The adapters have DIP switches to either enable the Renishaw's left (Q) and right (P) limit sensors or disable them so that external limit sensors can be connected to the drive's limit connector.  The adapters also have a 2 pin connector for interfacing the drive to a motor temperature sensor.

Note: thought the ACS SDMnt has a DA-26F connector, it is not used as an encoder input and thereby will not work with this series of Exdapter adapters.

Notes:

  1. To use the Renishaw limit sensors, you must set the Exdapter DIP switches to the "on" position and configure the ACS drive for sink inputs (e.g. on the UDMsm, set JP2 to position 2-3).
  2. The motor temperature sensor can be plugged into J3 of the Exdapter using a JST ZHR-2 connector housing with either SZH-002T-P0.5 (28-26 AWG) or SZH-003T-P0.5 (32-28 AWG) contacts (not included).  Per ACS documentation, the temperature sensor is a thermistor with resistance >10kΩ when temperature protection is on, and <1kΩ when temperature protection is off.
