This HALT (highly accelerated life test) chamber was developed to subject 6 multijunction photovoltaic cells to the following conditions that are in excess of typical concentrated photovoltaic and aerospace applications:
- Continuous concentrated sunlight from 10 to 1000+ times the sun’s power
- Temperatures from -100 °C to 200 °C (individually controlled)
- Vacuum from 10-5 mbar to atmospheric pressure
- Electrical biasing in all 4 quadrants
Surya Design handled the mechanical design (except for the vacuum chamber) and electrical design for this project.
